Last night, I went to bed thinking that maybe the baby will come in the middle of the night. I woke up around 9 am, feeling totally rested. Still no baby.
It’s the last beautiful sunny day in the forecast for the next 7 days. I decided being out and about will be better than staying home. I took mom to get some groceries, run errands, then we came home, ate lunch, and went for a walk to Artigiano to buy some fresh beans for Cliff. I also got some ingredients to make a cookies and cream brownie tonight.
I’m not in the biggest hurry for Joshua to come, since I am quite enjoying this time off work or any duties. However, I do feel a bit pressured that everyone asks every day when the baby is coming. It’s not like any of this is within my control. Anyway, I do want Joshua to come before November 15th, so that I don’t have to be induced. Induction increases the chance of c-section and forceps, so I would really like to avoid it as much as possible.
It is now 3 days past the due date, and Joshua is not really interested in coming out. I had another appointment with Dr. L today. She said I am 3 cm dilated, and the cervix is very soft. She did another membrane sweep, hopefully that will move things along.
With not much else to do today, I came home after the appointment to relax, watched “Baby Story” on TLC, and hung out with Sam. Some friends came by and we went for an one-hour walk down by Kits Beach.
Hanging out with Sam:
Everyone keep asking me when Joshua will be coming, even though I have no control over when he comes. I am actually quite enjoying this time of peace and quietness, and being able to rest whenever I need to.
It’s a day before the due date. I decided that sitting at home isn’t going to help much, so I made lunch plans with my BFF, and planned on running some errands downtown.
At lunch, I found out my BFF is pregnant, and I am SOOOOO happy for her! I was giddy for the rest of day from this news!
After lunch, I met up with a co-worker for coffee. The poor girl is stressed out and tired. Then I visited with another co-worker to drop off a small gift for her. It was good to visit with them, but I was quite happy that I didn’t have to be at work.
As I was leaving downtown, a friend on mat leave texted me and asked if I wanted to go for a walk. We ended up going for a long walk at Kits Beach for 1 1/2 hour. The temperature was very mild today, making it very pleasant to walk. Her baby slept through 1/2 of the walk, and just made baby noises for the rest of it. It was so good to see them and spend time with them.
