I was fascinated by the foam on the lavender plants in our garden. I took the photos and came home to Google what it is. It turns out that a type of bug called spittlebug leaves the foam goop on plants to protect baby spittlebugs they have laid. Nature is so freaking cool.

Next time I want to protect my kids from the big bad world, I’ll just cover them with my spit.
