Namibia is one of the best road trip countries I’ve ever visited. Fuel and food are always available, and roads are plenty and empty. Our trip to Namibia started by flying into Windhoek, picking up a double cab truck complete with a rooftop tent and all camping equipment, and buying some groceries.
We first headed south to Sossusvlei, then northwest to the coast, then northeast to Etosha, then south to Windhoek.
Most days we do our own sight seeing, but also joined a few tours at certain locations.
The roads in Namibia are mostly gravel. It took me a few hours to get used to gravel driving. It took a few days to get used to driving on the opposite side of the road with a 5-speed. The lack of traffic will make you smile the whole time.
Namibia is stunning. I think the photos will explain everything.
